With rustic nature trails surrounding its landmark building on Jamestown’s north side, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute provides opportunities to observe nature and to explore collections and exhibits on natural history. Named after the Jamestown native who popularized bird-watching in the 20th century through his series of illustrated field guides, the Institute houses an archive of Peterson’s work and specializes in nature-based learning experiences.
