Theatre for a Cause (TFAC), the brainchild of local actor Adam Hughes, is presenting The Winning Streak by playwright Lee Blessing for three nights in May. Blessing’s plays are regularly produced on Broadway and in regional and community theatres. He is best know for his drama A Walk in the Woods for which he was nominated for a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. Each night of performance an organization which has a cause to fund will sponsor the evening and be receiving the night’s door receipts. This is the second year that TFAC has offered local organizations a chance to fund raise using the arts as the fund raising vehicle. The play is to be presented at The Spire located on Third Street in Jamestown, where last years TFAC’s production of Tuesdays with Morrie was also presented.
The Winning Streak is a bittersweet comedy about the newly formed relationship between a father and son who first meet when the son is thirty. The title refers to a baseball team’s efforts to keep winning and the emphasis that the father puts on this rare event. Adam Hughes will be playing the son and his father is played by local, veteran actor Skip Anderson. The two actors have appeared together in many productions, most recently A Few Good Men at the Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown. This is their second opportunity to play relatives. At LBLTJ Hughes played the son-in-law of Charlie Anderson, the patriarch in Shenandoah.

Music Salon at UUCJ
