Butterflies and baseball for the Labor Day Weekend

The Labor Day weekend is a great time for outdoor activities as the days begin to get shorter and kids go back to school. As you make plans to picnic, camp, hike, enjoy the lake, or just relax, consider attending these events to fill your long weekend with some Jamestown-style fun. 

Comedy Open Mic at Brazil

This Wednesday, Brazil Craft Beer and Wine Lounge will host its monthly comedy open mic night. Try your hand at the craft of stand up comedy or just attend to have a few laughs. The event starts at 9 pm and is free to attend.

Community Day at the Farmers Market
The Downtown Jamestown Farmers Market will host its annual Community Day celebration this Thursday. In addition to the regular farmers market vendors, there will be a 1K kids run starting at 12:45, a magic show at 2 pm, free bounce house from noon to 4 pm, story hour and monarch butterfly release at 3 pm, and much more. Monarch Butterfly Festival
Did you know that a monarch butterfly weighs less than a large paperclip? Learn more fun facts about the incredible monarch butterfly this Saturday at Jamestown Audubon’s Monarch Butterfly Festival. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm and features many butterfly related activities. Learn more about the event at the Jamestown Audubon’s web site.

Labor Day at Bergman Park
The big event of the weekend is the 35th annual Labor Day Festival at Bergman Park in Jamestown. The event will be filled with bands, arts and crafts vendors, kids activities, a food concourse, fireworks, and much more. The event takes place on Sunday, August 31st. Farewell to the Jamestown Jammers
Jamestown has had the privilege of hosting a professional baseball team for 75 years, including nearly two decades of action from the Jamestown Jammers. The Jammers and its predecessors have made countless memories for local sports fans and this holiday weekend provides the last opportunity to make new memories with the Jamestown Jammers before their move to Morgantown.
