Celebrate Women in Art This Weekend

Celebrate the women who contribute to Jamestown’s artistic reputation this week by enjoying live music and other activities in downtown Jamestown. “Girls Rock 7” will be at Mojo’s this Friday followed by a slew of opportunities on Saturday to appreciate the work of the Pearl City’s female artists. 

Wednesday, March 26th - Comedy Open Mic Night 
The Comedy Open Mic Night at the Labyrinth is the area’s only regularly scheduled open mic for comedians. Some of Jamestown’s best comedic talent appears each month, along with first-timers.  Comedy starts just after 9 pm.

Thursday, March 27th - Rolling Hills Radio
Solo-musicians Jamie-Sue Seal and David Allen Coaster provide the evening’s entertainment for this month’s installment of Rolling Hills Radio. Get more information about the event and purchase your tickets here.  Due to the show’s popularity, advance ticket purchases are encouraged.  

Friday, March 28th - Girls Rock 7
The 7th edition of “Girls Rock” hits Mojo’s this Friday with a slew of local female musicians taking the stage. The show starts at 9 pm and is $6 at the door. For a complete list of musicians click here.

Saturday, March 29th - SWAN Day and Women Create Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) Day has become a popular celebration in Jamestown in recent years. Infinity Visual and Performing Arts will be hosting an art market from 11 am to 4 pm. They will also be hosting a drop-in workshop where you can meet and work with two artists in residency as part of the upcoming “Colonized” show that will start next month. To further celebrate and support women artists you can enjoy the “Women Create” exhibit still on display at the 3rd on 3rd gallery at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. The Look Ahead...
This week Infinity Visual and Performing Arts started promoting their Local Artist Showcase, which will take place on Saturday, May 31st at Jamestown’s Gateway Train Station. This event is a fundraiser for Infinity and will provide opportunities to go home with some original local art. Learn more here.
